MetaCyc Class: Reactions Classified By Conversion Type

Summary:
This class is the root of an ontology in which reactions are classified by the type of transition that occurs, whether by a change in covalent bonding, by a weak binding interaction, or via a complex multistep process, etc. This reaction ontology is orthogonal to the classification of reactions by substrate classes, that is, many reactions will have parents in both ontologies.
