Summary:
YedA is a member of the drug-metabolite exporter (DME) family of transport proteins [Jack01]. Overexpression of yedA from a plasmid increases resistance of E. coli to purine base analogues [Zakataeva06]. Overexpression of yedA from a plasmid confers resistance to the toxic chemical, bromoacetate [Desai10]. DNA microarray analysis shows yedA is transiently repressed upon cold shock [Phadtare04].
